Augmented Reality Simulations for Enhanced Neurological Assessment Training
The Problem: Public nursing colleges needed a practical way to enhance the functionality of rigid training manikins in simulation labs, aiming to better prepare nursing students to identify neurological dysfunction and reduce risks to patients in clinical settings.

The Solution: A research pilot was conducted using an interactive prototype to test the effectiveness of augmented reality (AR) in simulating neurological conditions on existing manikins. The AR projections were viewed through iPads already available in the simulation labs.

The Outcome: The pilot showed that AR Neuro Simulator proved to be an effective, cost-efficient solution that improved students' ability to recognize neurological dysfunction and respond more quickly in a lab environment, better equipping them for clinical practice.
